Why do photojournalists do what they do? Why as people do we do anything we do? Passion and drive may come to mind. Sometimes people are bored and want to feel intrigued. Most importantly people want to do something they love. A good photographer for this example is Cindy Sherman. What motivates Cindy Sherman is Warhol she has said. She had experimented with pictures like Warhol and tried to take pictures similar to his work. She said he was an inspiration to her work, and you can see how her work may vary from other photography work you see today. She has this creative spin where she also dresses up as old famous characters and looks just like them. In the video Lynn Johnson Women in Photojournalism she states "In the world of photojournalism it's still very much a male community". Which is going to show that's slowly changing and evolving for people like Cindy.

The picture above is Cindy Sherman dresses as Lucy from I Love Lucy.
Another photojournalist who came to mind was Bianca Simonetti and her work with marine photography. She does a great job at capturing underwater photography and the problems in our ocean. She is a scuba diver and a naturalist, and a swimmer so this is where most of her inspiration comes from. She has photography she's worked on to portray the problems with liter in our ocean that really sends a message to people through her work. Bianca hopes to create change in our oceans by showing people through her work what is going on. She wants to create awareness so people can fully understand the act of littering and what it does to our oceans and planet in general. People face problems in photojournalism as well environmentally and sometimes through war. In the video Kenyan Photojournalist the man said "In three different locations I was attacked." So while Bianca is trying to show problems in the ocean and use that as a way to send a message some people don't have such quite peaceful interactions and can get hurt trying to create these messages for others.

Another photographer that comes to mind for me is Ed Kashi. What inspires him is "the desire to tell stories that have impact on both individuals and the greater good, and that can contribute to positive change in the world." He likes being able to tell a story from the world. To be able to witness and record history and have the challenge to create imagery that is compelling and artistic. In the video Kenyan Photojournalist the man states "In my heart I knew I wanted to be a photographer and tell people's stories." This shows that people use their passion to fuel their drive to pursue this in their career. They need to show something important and share these things with the world.

Below I have provided my own motivational map.
These photographers can compare similarly to my motivational map. What inspires me are different creativity outlets like Disney, and watching sports, and the changing times around us all. I am motivated by being able to be created and driven by wanting to be the best and my support from friends and family. These people find something that makes them feel creative like their passions for example. Then they take their passion and morph it into an artwork of sort.
